Potential Safety target for the Eagles signs new 5-year deal with Bengals

It’s been a rollercoaster morning for Eagles fans and amidst all of the drama surrounding Byron Maxwell and the Miami Dolphins, a potential Safety target for the Eagles is no longer going to be an option.

George Iloka was set to be a prime target to line up alongside Malcolm Jenkins next season but as of today will remain in Cincinnati for the next five years. Eagles fans quickly realized that Iloka’s twitter Inbox was open for anyone to send a direct message and the result was an amusing campaign to get him to Philly.

Iloka was set to be one of the biggest stars in his position heading into Free Agency and the market was already densely populated when it came to wanting his services..but ultimately the 25 year old will remain a Bengal.

No news has emerged regarding the future of Walter Thurmond yet and with the league year officially starting at 4PM today, it seems likely they will be seeking a replacement.
