Eagles opt not to use Franchise Tag on Sam Bradford; what this means for his future

After a day of constantly checking your phones for the latest news on Sam Bradford, the Franchise Tag Deadline has passed..and the Eagles have not used their Tag on Quarterback Sam Bradford.

It’s not all doom and gloom however..the Eagles still have time to negotiate a deal with Bradford before he hits Free Agency and the refusal to use the tag either means they’re close to a mutual agreement or at least very aware of their current cap situation.

The Eagles will have until March 7th before things start to get messy. In six days time, the legal tampering window opens which allows potential UFA’s to visit elsewhere or have contact with staff members of other teams….on March 9th if no deal is finalised, Sam Bradford will hit Free Agency.

Sam’s agent was supposed to meet with the Eagles on Monday but apparently nothing materialised and the two were scheduled to meet today. The outcome of the meeting remains unknown but it certainly didn’t end in the Eagles deciding to use their $20m franchise tag which is probably for the best.
