Three Flyers earn call up to their national team for World Cup Of Hockey 2016

The playoffs are rapidly approaching and understandably for both Flyers fans and players alike, reaching them is all that’s going to be on the mind. However for three Flyers stars, the World Cup of Hockey lies ahead.

Goalie Michal Neuvirth, Defenseman Radko Gudas and Forward Jakub Voracek have all been called up to the Czech Republic for the World Cup of Hockey 2016.

The Flyers have been extremely hot as of late winning four of their last five and their last three consecutively.

Voracek has had 10 goals and 38 assists this season and has been impressive throughout but a recent injury has meant that the Flyers have had to find alternate ways to create chances.

After a sensational stick save a few nights ago, Neuvirth has won 16 of his 26 starts, allowing just 61 goals and obtaining a .927 SV%.

Gudas has had a very wobbly first season in Philadelphia. Aggressive would be the best word to describe his play but his recklessness has cost the team with two ejections in a short amount of time. However, his consistent play and sheer physicality has earned him a call up to the team!

The World Cup Of Hockey is scheduled to start on September 17th 2016.
