It’s no surprise that Chip Kelly liked being in control..not a Fifty Shades of Grey control but a “I want to be Head Coach and GM of the team” kind of control..but after what we’ve seen tonight it appears those same tendencies may have impacted his final moments and future away from Philadelphia.
Per Sal Paolantonio Lurie wanted to strip Chip Kelly of personnel control. Chip balked. Lurie fired him.

None of this official and that should be noted but with other reports surfacing of Lurie talking to players and receiving some worrying feedback about their coach, it seems as though Lurie heard bad things from inside the nest and decided to meet with Chip Kelly in which discussions about control took place..the result was what we saw tonight.
We could be wrong and of course this is all speculation but it would surely take a lot for Lurie to fire his head coach with one game left in the season just weeks after giving Kelly his trust in press conferences..
