Eagles will no longer have a GM role

It’s been a chaotic day to be an Eagles fan or anyone involved in the organization but perhaps the most pleasant news of all was that it appears owner Jeffery Lurie has learned from his mistakes.

In his press conference earlier today, Lurie told the media that the Eagles would not be finding a new General Manager and instead almost create a coalition. The new combination would see:

The Executive Vice President of Football Relations- Howie Roseman
Senior Director of Player Personnel- Tom Donahoe
The new head coach

This obviously implies that Roseman won’t have the lone say in who’s hired and fired (probably for the best) and instead it becomes a group decision as the trio make the right choices to benefit the team.

This is entirely different to when Chip was in charge after he essentially resumed the roles of Head Coach and General Manager. Will it be more successful than the previous power ladder? It remains to be seen..but they often say two heads think better than one..surely three heads think better than Chip Kelly when it comes to the signing and releasing of players.
