Michal Neuvirth placed on Injured Reserve

It was announced earlier today that Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth has been placed on injured reserve following an upper body injury against the Bruins three days ago.

The goalie who became the first goaltender since 2003 to start his Flyers career with two shutouts is said to be day-to-day but reportedly partook in the optional practice on Sunday.

Jason LaBarbera has been called up from the Phantoms to be Mason’s backup after Mase saved 37 of 39 shots in last nights shootout win over the Rangers in the Flyers first Metropolitan division game this year.

Neuvirth enters IR with a 1.155 GAA and a .947 save percentage.
