G.J Kinne joins NFC East Rival

The Eagles released G.J Kinne after a very interesting training camp and pre-season. In an attempt to earn a spot on the roster, Kinne switched from Quarterback to Wide Receiver and even played at running back for a short time. But ultimately all of the hard work wasn’t enough and his space on the roster was taken by another.

It didn’t take the 26 year old long to find a new home, a home all to familiar to the Eagles. It was revealed today that Kinne has been signed by the New York Giants and assigned to their practice squad. The versatile QB worked out with the team just yesterday and put pen to paper earlier on. For Eagles fans it’s a sad story. Many got behind the Tulsa star due to his work ethic. He never missed a day of camp and worked exceedingly hard. Kinne wasn’t the most talented player or the most productive. But he did everything he could to make that roster and whilst it is a divisional rival, it’s nice to see a team take a chance on him.

It will be interesting to watch his progress over the next year or so to see where he ends up playing if at all. Will he be a potential Quarterback option or did the Giants see something they liked when he played as a wideout? Only time will tell.
