Eagles reduce roster to 75, cut only one player

The deadline for the 75 man roster was set for 4PM today and with no real moves from the Eagles, people were wondering who they would cut. Well, we got our answer..and it was quite surprising.

First of all, the team waived running back Kevin Monangai who had been picked up earlier this off-season. The Villanova product was as low as the sixth running back on the chart so no real surprise to see him go, but a smart move in keeping the position healthy.

The next piece of wizardry that does carry some misfortune is waiving Emmanuel Acho. We know he was forced to clear out his locker early last week following an injury..but then they placed recent draft pick JaCorey Shepherd on injured reserve following his ACL tear. These moves have brought the Eagles down to the needed 75 players, and the birds have got to that number..without actually cutting anybody.

Interestingly however, The Eagles have done the opposite of cutting. By keeping punter Kip Smith who has been knuckling balls home whilst #LoveParkey recovers from an injury. Smith has already been named in the lineup for Thursday nights pre-season finale against the Jets.
