The man with arguably the hardest name to pronounce in Football has joined the Eagles alongside Cornerback EJ Biggers. Seyi Ajirotutu has made 57 appearances over his five year career, totaling 420 yards and three touchdowns from 24 catches. Eagles fans had been begging for some depth to be added to the Receiver core following the departure of Jeremy Maclin and they finally get what they want! The 27 year old was named 2014 Chargers Special Teams Player of the Year and led the team in special teams tackles in consecutive seasons. Considering how deadly the Philly special teams group is, Seyi is a worthy addition to the squad!
Six-year veteran CB E.J Biggers has appeared in 76 games (31 of which have been starts) and recorded 235 tackles, with four interceptions, 38 passes deflected and a sack to go with them. He saw action in 15 games last season recording 31 tackles. He started in 12/13 games for Tampa Bay in 2012 before making his journey elsewhere around the league.
The Eagles needed more depth at the CB position, where they added Maxwell and Thummond this season, the signing of the 6-foot, 185-pound Biggers is going to be a valuable one when it comes to rotation. He has experience in the safety role which is yet another position the Eagles are crying out of depth in.
Two new signings, two gaps filled. Chip’s revolution is well underway.
