Commanders vs Eagles: NFL Week 11 Betting preview

The Philadelphia Eagles come into this game riding a huge wave of confidence. Just days after decimating what was left of the Cowboys, the team now has an opportunity to assert its authority over the NFC East by taking sole possession of the top spot. Having won 5 games on the bounce, there has never been a better time for them to face the Commanders, who lost a tight game to the Steelers on Sunday afternoon.

Philly boasts the second-most efficient rushing offense in the NFL, but leads the league in rushing yards per game over the last 3 weeks, averaging 195 per contest. Saquon Barkley continues to rip through opponents like a Knife through Butter and the Commanders rank 28th against the run. This is a matchup that simply has to be exploited if the Eagles are to win this contest and keep Jayden Daniels and company quiet.

Speaking of the Commanders, they are a team who simply cannot be overlooked. They rank 6th in yards per pass completion, with Jayden Daniels headlining a show that continues to spring surprise after surprise. Terry McLaurin will line up opposite rookie CB Quinyon Mitchell, presenting the Toledo product with his toughest test of the 2024 season so far, and while the defense as a whole has looked remarkable over the last few weeks, this is by far the most dangerous offense they’ve faced.

Unlike the Bengals, the Commanders do have a rushing attack. a real dual-threat tandem in Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. compliment the rushing ability of Washington’s rookie QB and are bound to really challenge this Eagles defense, who has gone above and beyond everyone’s expectations over the last month.

Interestingly, Philly has won 5 of the last 6 games against the Commanders, but this is now a team finally emerging from the basement of the NFC East, and the Birds will have a tougher time against them then they have In recent games as a result.

Why the Commanders can win

The Eagles might have won 5 in a row, but the defenses faced rank 17th, 23rd, 26th, 16th, and 32nd. Despite this, the offense has struggled to find a rhythm in nearly every contest played and have battled some confusing play calls throughout their run. the Commanders’ offense is explosive enough to capitalize on any misfires from Philly and they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways after a really tight loss against a very stout defense.

Why the Eagles can win

Philadelphia is heating up at just the right time and return home with a 5-game win streak to host a Commanders team who could be one loss away from their first real adversity with Jayden Daniels under center. Washington is where Philly was a few years ago, breaking out and stunning the world. Sustaining that is the hard part, and the Eagles are simply the better team on paper.

Commanders vs Eagles: NFL Week 11 Betting pick

I like the Eagles here. You’re only laying a field goal and the ascent of this team in recent weeks should give them enough confidence in their new schemes to continue performing at a high level against a team who will demand the best out of them. This has the potential to become a statement win and I think the Birds follow through on making it so.
