Phillies vs Brewers: The Phillies are now one game away from a sweep of the Brewers before they fly across the Pond to face the Mets in London. Can they climb one game further ahead in the race for the NL East before they takeoff?

Phillies vs Cardinals: Pitching preview
Aaron Nola (7-2, 3.03 ERA) vs Aaron Ashby (N/A)
With another sweep on the horizon, the Phillies are sending out Aaron Nola this afternoon. The Phillies’ ace has been red-hot recently, allowing no more than 3 runs in a single game in his last 4 outings. In fact, that’s been the case in 10 of his last 11. The Brewers do bring some significant firepower to the battle, although the Phils have been able to keep them quiet in this series thus far. Nola has also struck out 5+ in all 5 of his last starts. This is something worth keeping an eye on when betting on pitching props for tonight’s game.
Across from Nola will be the returning Aaron Ashby, who has been called up from the minors for this game. He did make a start at the beginning of the season but was butchered by the Reds, giving up 8 runs in 3.2 innings and striking out only 2. His spurt in the minors hardly will hardly fill opposing fans with confidence either, with Ashby posting a 6.80 ERA despite a recent resurgence.
This could be a light day of work for Aaron Nola if the offense gets rolling early, which it has every chance to against a pitcher who has struggled in recent months and hardly has a strong body of work to examine.
Phillies vs Brewers: Betting preview
The Phillies are favored to win the final game of this series and with good reason. The Brewers have been able to find next to no offense against the Fightin’s, scoring just 2 runs in the series thus far. With a very beatable starting pitcher, the Phils should be licking their lips ahead of this game.
Betting pick: Phillies -1.5 (-110)
Prop bet fun
I actually think there’s some value on Aaron Ashby’s ‘hits allowed’ market. The line sits at 4.5 and while the over is only -145, this would be a great option to parlay with some other props given his recent struggles in the minors and how strong the Phillies have looked.
