Taijuan Walker will take the mound tonight for the Phillies in hopes of continuing to improve on his season. After a wobbly first game, Walker has allowed fewer hits in each outing since. He’s still being dinged pretty consistently, giving up 21 hits in 18 innings pitched, but there’s at least reason for optimism given his sterling 2023 campaign and the fact he’s yet to lose a game.
Across from Walker will be Jose Quintana, who has also struggled when it comes to giving up hits this season, having allowed 16 over his last 2 along with 12 runs. If there’s ever a game that feels destined for an offensive explosion from both teams, it’s this one.

Runs have been aplenty in this series. The OVER has covered in two out of the three games so far, with last night’s 15-run romp showing that both teams can score with ease if it all clicks. This is the weakest pitching matchup of the series, so I think this could easily see 10+ runs. Backing the over feels like the smartest play here.
