The PGA Tour heads to Quail Hollow this weekend for the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship. A stacked field will descend on the iconic course with hopes of dethroning Wyndham Clark, who won the event last year. Here are 5 players worth backing this weekend.
PGA Tour: Best bets for Wells Fargo Championship
Max Homa
To win: +2200
Top-5: +450
Top-10: +210
Max Homa has enjoyed a strong start to the 2024 season but is still searching for his first win of the campaign. There may be no better place than at an event he’s already won twice.
Homa also finished 8th here in 2023, following up on his win in 2022. His first win at the Wells Fargo Championship came back in 2019, so there’s a strong track record here.
What makes this bet such a strong one is the fact that Homa is coming off of a slightly disappointing finish at the RBC Heritage, which has pushed his odds higher than we’d usually expect. He’s still one of the best ball-strikers on the PGA tour and has developed into a very well-rounded golfer who doesn’t often crumble under pressure.
With that in mind, I don’t mind flirting with an unusually high price here.

Cam Young
To win: +2500
Top-5: +550
Top-10: +250
Cam Young is another Golfer who’s yet to really hit his peak during the PGA Tour season. With that said, he’s absolutely trending in the right direction. Young made a great account of himself at The Masters (9th) and finished 2nd at the Valspar Championship in the week beforehand.
He’s struggled to find consistency with the putter this season, but his length off the tee and improving approach play make him a threat to catch fire at any time.

Will Zalatoris
To win: +3500
Top-5: +750
Top 10: +350
I find it hard not to back Will Zalatoris. It feels like he’s an insta-wager every week until he really gets back to his best. He’s had 4 top-15 finishes in his last 6 events, ranks 8th on approach this season and 14th when it comes to driving accuracy. Both of those metrics will be crucial to success this weekend and along with his improved putting, this feels like a prime spot for Zalatoris to break out and get back to winning ways on the PGA Tour.
Byeong Hun An
To win: +3500
Top-5: +800
Top-10: +360
As far as PGA Tour longshots go, there may be none more attractive from a betting perspective than Byeong Hun An. He’s coming off of a 4th place finish at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson and mustered a 16th-place spot at The Masters. He’s also one of the biggest hitters on tour this season and ranks 11th in GIR%.
While his putting has let him down consistently, it only takes one good week and he could easily fly into contention given how strong the rest of his game is becoming. He’s only missed 2 cuts out of 12 events this season and has 7 top-25’s. There is definitely some early value here.

Akshay Bhatia
To win: +4000
Top 5: +900
Top-10: +360
Bhatia is becoming one of this years’ up-and-coming stars on the PGA Tour. He’s finished inside the top-35 in each of his last 5 events, winning one of them. He ranks 6th on approach and 5th in strokes-gained overall, displaying some excellently well-rounded play over the last few months. While this is a more intimidating field, there’s no reason he shouldn’t continue to build on one of the most underrated campaigns we’ve seen this season.
