Phillies vs Reds: The Phillies are heating up. Having now won 8 consecutive games, the Phils now head to Cincinnati to take on the Reds who currently sit 3rd in the NL Central. Can they keep the good times rolling in Monday’s series-opener?

Phillies vs Reds: Pitching preview
Ranger Suarez (3-0, 1.73 ERA) vs Hunter Greene (0-1, 4.35 ERA)
What a start to the season it’s been for Ranger Suarez. He’s coming off the back of his second-ever career shutout. The lefty threw 112 pitches against the Rockies, giving up just 6 total hits and striking out 8. The incredible performance also marked his third win of the year and started up some early All-Star conversations. He’ll be looking to stay hot against a Reds side that ranks 24th in batting average so far.
Across from Suarez will be Hunter Greene, who has been mostly stellar so far with the exception of a 7-run blip against the Brewers. Greene now faces a Phillies team that ranks 3rd in batting average over its last 3 games, presenting arguably his toughest challenge yet. It will be interesting to see how he fares. He’s averaging a 4.60 ERA through his first 3 years of MLB play, which, while solid, should at least give the Phillies offense a chance to create some early momentum before a Reds’ bullpen averaging 3.92 earned runs per game takes the wheel.
Phillies vs White Sox: Betting preview
The Phillies are really starting to catch fire offensively and that’s bad news for a Reds side that either seems to give up 2 runs or 8. Their series against the Angels was a perfect example, with them giving up 1 run in 2 games combined and having to slug out a 7-5 win in the middle. The Phils should be able to score pretty comfortably this series.
With that said, the Reds’ offense has also been pretty consistent. They bring a little momentum to this series having just swept the Angels and of course have homefield advantage, where they sit 7-5 on the season. I like the OVER in tonight’s game.
Betting pick: OVER 8 runs.
Prop bet fun
Kyle Schwarber could be a fun candidate to bet behind this evening. While explosive in bunches, he hasn’t resisted a multi-game hitting streak this season since facing the Pirates.
With Bryce Harper out for today after being placed on the Paternity List, this is the perfect spot for a Schwarbomb. He’s priced at -125 to record a hit, and +240 for a home run.
