3 outlandish WrestleMania 40 predictions: Damien Priest cashes in…but on who?

WrestleMania 40 is just around the corner and excitement is at an all-time high in the City of Brotherly Love. Before we turn our attention to the weekend ahead, it’s time to make some bold predictions for the biggest event of the year!

Damien Priest cashes in at WrestleMania 40!

One half of the defending WWE Tag Team Champions, Priest has been sitting pretty on his Money In The Bank briefcase for close to a year. This allows him to cash in for a free shot at a championship of his choosing at anytime, and there’s no place like WrestleMania to end the speculation of ‘when is he actually going to do it?’

My prediction here is that he will be angered by dropping the belts this weekend, and storm to the ring during the World Heavyweight Title bout between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. What would be perfect is if CM Punk interferes in the match, giving the moment of a WrestleMania win to Drew, only for Priest to snatch the glory away with a pre-planned cash-in that Punk had a hand in.

This would set up the head-to-head rivalry between Punk and McIntyre that has felt inevitable for sometime now, as well as clearing the way for Priest and Seth to battle it out over a short feud before WWE really pushes one of the most consistent performers they have on their books.

Wrestling has more than one royal family

The Cody Rhodes saga has been one of the most enticing storylines in recent memory and going into this weekend, the odds still feel stacked against him. Can he really trust Seth Rollins in the tag match? Ideally, Cody needs some help, and there’s one man perfectly poised to ensure trouble does not find its way to the ring.

That man is Dustin Rhodes, who is currently signed to AEW, and the older brother of The American Nightmare. Dustin and Cody had a beautiful match in the early days of AEW and The Natural has been quite vocal on social media when it comes to how things have panned out in recent weeks.

Could we see a one-off return where Dustin comes back as himself, not Gold dust, and helps his younger brother finish his story?

What’s a ladder match at WrestleMania without team extreme?

The six-pack ladder match for the WWE Tag Team titles looks set to be an enthralling affair, but what’s a tag match involving ladders without The Hardy Boyz?

Matt Hardy’s AEW contract is up soon and speculation about another WrestleMania return has been ripe. The duo have done it once before and there’s no reason they wouldn’t go back for one last run to finish out their storied careers.
