Familiar Names Return with some New Names Added

There are a few changes to this roster from the Gold Cup roster, as some players are returning from injury, and there are also some new names added. Both Mallory Swanson and Catarina Macario are returning from injury, as Swanson dealt with a torn patellar tendon, and Macario dealt with an ACL injury. In addition to the two players returning, two individuals have received their first-ever senior call-ups. 16-year-old Lily Yohannes and 21-year-old Eva Gaetino both got the call-up and will be looking to make their first-ever senior appearance for the USWNT.

Speaking about the team and welcoming these players back, interim manager Twila Kilgore said:

“This is an evolving team that is eager to get back together and continue progressing. The W Gold Cup provided a lot of players with needed experiences and presented us with different adversities we had to overcome together. We will take all these experiences with us into SheBelieves and beyond. Of course, we’re thrilled to welcome back Mal and Cat and continue to incorporate some less experienced players into the mix.”

All in all, the 2024 edition of the SheBelieves Cup is looking to be a good one, as the United States is looking for its seventh win in its history. But, we will see you guys on April 6th, when the USWNT kicks off against Japan at 12:30 PM EST!
