MLB World Series Odds: The 2024 MLB season is on the horizon here. Spring Training is nearing its close and excitement surrounding the new year is ramping up. The Philadelphia Phillies will be looking to return to the World Series for the second time in three years, but what does Vegas make of their chances?
MLB World Series Odds: Dodgers lead the way, Phillies in the chasing pack
MLB World Series Odds: Phillies odds sit at +1400 ahead of new season
The Phillies will roll into the season in the heart of the chasing pack when it comes to the odds markets. They started last year at +1500, so Vegas appears to be slightly more bullish on them to win it all this year than they were in 2023.
There is definitely some value backing them early. Bryce Harper will be healthy to the start the season, which wasn’t the case last time around. That should at least give the team an edge over the group that took to the field in 2023. The Phillies were without the former NL MVP until May last year, and some slumps from other players haunting them, it was tough for the Phillies to sustain momentum. That shouldn’t be an issue this season.
The Phils have retained much of their strong core from a year ago which means they will once again feature an all-star batting lineup on most nights. Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner headline of the most dominant batting lineups in baseball, while the team have also penned both Zack Wheeler AND Aaron Nola to a new contract. The future is bright and nothing says success in MLB like familiarity and confidence. If the Phillies can avoid the same pitfalls that presented themselves last year, they should be right in the thick of another World Series berth.
If you haven’t bet on the Phillies to win the World Series just yet, now might be a good time. If the team does get rolling quickly, the odds will only come down, so locking in a high price early is always a good idea. You can always sprinkle more throughout the season too if the price does go up. But if you’re bullish on another Red October, there’s no better time than right now.
