Philadelphia is a road favorite this week, but by less than half of what they were when the Giants comfortably covered the spread only two weeks ago. The Eagles likely won’t be resting any starters in this matchup, which should at least inspire some confidence in backing them.
The Eagles have to beat the Giants if they are to win the NFC East, and they’ll also need the Commanders to somehow upset the Cowboys. It’s not impossible, and there is a chance that Dallas rests its starters. However, even that is unlikely due to the scheduling. Both games will be played at the same time, so we’re not going to see a Marcus Mariota-led offense take the field, at least in the first half.
To beat the Giants and have a shot at retaining their NFC East crown, they’ll need to play much better than they have over the last month. Sure, the Giants are far from elite and will be rolling out Tyrod Taylor, but Philly is supposed to be an elite team, not a unit losing to Jonathan Gannon’s lowly Cardinals.
The G-Men do have an incentive to ‘lose’ this game too. New York currently owns the fifth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. A loss, combined with wins elsewhere for teams like the Cardinals and Commanders, could see that pick move as high as 2nd overall. A loss could see it drop back as low as 8th. It would behoove New York to maybe not play as hard as they usually would, but thats easier said than done with pride on the line in a divisional rivalry.

The total for this game is fairly low (42) but understandably so. Sure, both of these defenses have been putrid over the last few weeks, but there is every chance that the Eagles will hoist starters out at the earliest opportunity. Their playoff fate is sealed, and even if they only beat New York by a point, that’s all they need to do.
With New York’s incentive to ‘not win’, there is also the possibility of a limping offensive performance, especially with a third-string QB at the helm.
