The Philadelphia Eagles came unglued in a disappointing loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, the bad news continues to pour out of the City of Brotherly Love. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, DeVonta Smith is believed to have a mild ankle sprain.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith suffers minor injury

Ian Rapoport’s tweet comes after Smith was seen with crutches and a walking boot on his right foot following the loss.

The relieving news is that this isn’t considered a major injury. The Eagles will likely need Smitty if they have any hopes of securing the NFC East crown next weekend.

DeVonta Smith had 3 catches for 30 yards before exiting the game with the injury, and has 1,066 yards on the season. Smitty recorded 1,196 in 2022 and is on pace to get very close to that number this year in what has been another impressive season for the former Heisman winner.

Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery!
