DROY Odds: Jalen Carter is the runaway favorite to win the award

Since the beginning of the 2023 season, the Defensive Rookie of the Year award felt like a narrow race. A debut against the Patriots that saw Jalen Carter rally to 5 pressures, a sack, and 3 QB hurries certainly propelled him to the front of the pack, and from there, the former Bulldog never really looked back.

With just two games left of the regular season, Eagles DT Jalen Carter is now -20000 to win the award. Those odds are absolutely ridiculous, with the next closest contender being Devon Witherspoon at +4000!

Jalen Carter still leads the field in DROY odds

It feels like all but a certainty that Jalen Carter will be named Defensive Rookie of The Year. What’s even more impressive is that he’s on course to do so despite missing Week 6 against the Jets due to an ankle injury and some time against Washington.

With 5 sacks on the season, Carter also has 17 QB pressures. His ability to rip through opposing offensive lines has been unmatched by most veteran defensive tackles, with the rookie also maintains a PFF grade of 85.5 this season and could well be on his way to a Pro Bowl berth.

If Jalen Carter does win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, he will be the first-ever Philadelphia Eagle to do so.
