It’s been a bumpy couple of weeks for the Philadelphia Eagles, so how about a positive story for a change? According to a new study from the folks at Bettingtop10 Canada, Jalen Carter has been the NFL’s most-searched defensive tackle this season.

According to Bettingtop10 Canada, Carter’s name is searched around 243,000 times per month, ahead of Aaron Donald in 2nd who taps in at around 197,000 searches.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Carter is not only Philadelphia’s highest-graded defender this season by PFF, but is shining brighter than any other defensive rookie the league has to offer.

After falling into the lap of Howie Roseman following “character issues”, the former Georgia stalwart is keeping every GM who passed on him up at night.

Carter has been turning heads during his rookie season. Through 12 games played he has 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 6 TFL and 7 QB hits. Oh, and a scoop-and-score touchdown. It’s rare to see a rookie defensive tackle make such an explosive impact, and he seems to only be getting better as the year goes on.

Carter also ranks 4th of ALL defensive tackles in pass-rush win rate (18%) and that’s in spite of seeing double teams on 59% of his defensive snaps. The 6’3, 314 lbs DT is an absolute monster and continues to wreak havoc against opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks.

The Eagles might have been humbled in their last 2 games, but Jalen Carter still found a way to stand out from the crowd in those defeats. It’s nice to see the rookie get his flowers. He’s the overwhelming favorite (-600) to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, which would be an amazing and fully deserved honor.
