The Philadelphia Flyers (15-10-2) are coming off two impressive West Coast road wins. Last Thursday, the team defeated the hot Arizona Coyotes, 4-1, and on Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche fell victim to the Flyers’ current hot streak as they suffered a 5-2 defeat.

Winners of four straight, the Flyers head to Nashville to take on a Predators (15-13-0) team that has won four of its last five contests. Both teams are coming into tonight’s game with momentum and currently hold the seventh spot in their respective conferences. The Flyers sit in third place in the Metropolitan Division, and the Predators are in fourth place in the Central Division.

Nashville Predators

Nashville is returning home for the first time since last Thursday. This is the first time they will face off against the Flyers this season. Overall, the Predators hold the edge in all-time meetings at home against the Flyers at 7-5-2-1.

The Predators are coming off a 2-1 victory in Montreal on Sunday behind a two-goal game from Colton Sissons — his second multi-goal game this season. Roman Josi commented on what makes Sissons so valuable to the Predators’ offense:

“He’s great on the kill, he wins faceoffs. He does all the little things and the hard things that don’t necessarily show up on the score sheet. So every time we have a guy like him chip in offensively and get rewarded for everything he does, it’s always a lot of fun and the guys are really happy for him.”

Tuesday night will be the Predators’ first game at home since the devastating tornadoes tore through the area over the weekend. The team will have ways that fans can help donate to the relief efforts at the game on Tuesday night.

The Flyers will have their hands filled with Filip Forsberg. He has been on a tear this season, wracking 31 points (14G, 17A) in 28 games thus far. Josi has also been collecting points rapidly, accumulating five over his last four games.

The Predators’ special teams are areas of which the Flyers can take advantage. Their power play sits 14th in the NHL, and their penalty kill ranks near the bottom of the league at 24th.

Here is the tentative lineup for the Predators:

Forsberg-O’Reilly-Nyquist
Sherwood-Novak-Evangelista
Trenin-Glass-Sissons
Smith-McCarron-Parssinen

Josi-Fabbro
McDonagh-Carrier
Lauzon-Schenn

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers begin making their way back east on Tuesday with a pit stop in Nashville before returning home on Thursday. The Flyers have won four games in a row and will look to extend their winning streak against a Nashville team that has gained a few wins over the last week.

Heading into Tuesday night’s contest, Travis Konecny has been one of the hottest players on the team. He has scored two goals in two straight games — giving him 16 on the season — and has collected seven points over his last five contests. Following Saturday’s win in Colorado, head coach John Tortorella complimented his 26-year-old center on his recent play:

“He’s just a really good player. He knows he’s a good player. When his mind is straight and he doesn’t get caught up in all the antics of it all and just plays, his engine is so good. He does so many things for the hockey team. It’s fun to watch him play.”

Ryan Poehling will return tonight after missing the previous two games (illness). Carter Hart will also get a breather as Sam Ersson will get the start. The Flyers’ backup goaltender has played well lately, with wins in his last four starts. He has also done a swell job of making saves, garnering a 93.2%SV over that span.

Here’s the tentative lineup for the Philadelphia Flyers:

Foerster-Couturier-Konecny
Farabee-Laughton-Atkinson
Tippett-Frost-Brink
Deslauriers-Poehling-Hathaway

York-Sanheim
Seeler-Walker
Zamula-Ristolainen
