NFL MVP Odds: How does Jalen Hurts rank after Buffalo Bills win
The Philadelphia Eagles are 10-1 after fending off the Buffalo Bills in a brilliant overtime win. QB Jalen Hurts entered the game on the back of a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs and while it took a while for him to get up to speed against the Bills on Sunday afternoon, there was no stopping him once he did.
What has that done to the NFL MVP Odds? You’ll be surprised…
Jalen Hurts is +125 to win NFL MVP in 2023
Jalen Hurts started the season at around the +1100 mark when it came to the MVP Odds race. 11 games into the season, he’s now the lead favorite at +125! This is of course well deserved after Hurts has knocked off the very best the AFC has to offer in recent weeks.
With big wins over the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Bills on his resume this season, all Jalen Hurts really needs to do is get past the 49ers for the MVP debates to be closed for 2023. He’s beaten some of the premier teams in the NFL, including the defending world champions, and has guided his team to a dominant 10-1 record.
We knew that a clash between Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts would significantly tilt the scales, but we didn’t know just how much they would move. A win for Hurts saw his price drop from +250 to +125 – a 50% drop! For context, his odds dropped from +280 to +250 when Hurts toppled Mahomes last week. This is a huge swing in price.
With games against the Niners and Seahawks on deck, there is every chance that Jalen Hurts separates himself from the pack and establishes himself as the runaway candidate for this years’ MVP Award, although Vegas seems to have already waved the chequered flag…
Jalen Hurts also pushed A.J Brown into the history books this season, with the young wideout becoming the first in NFL history to have 6 consecutive games with at least 120 receiving yards in a single season.
Jalen Hurts also holds the current NFL record for most wins in a row when his team is down by 10+ points. The record? 8.
If you’re looking to bet on Jalen Hurts to win the MVP award, now might be a good time for that very reason. If a win over the Bills plummeted his odds, a win over the Niners might have a similar effect. Hurts went from +1000 to +650 in a seven-day span last year upon his return from a shoulder injury and it would be fair to say that the MVP race would’ve been tighter had he played an entire year.
But while the world still sleeps on Jalen Hurts winning the NFL MVP award, you have the opportunity to cash in and make some money.
