Football fans were stuck watching a dud on “Thursday Night Football” when the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers took centerstage at Soldier Field. It was a boring slog, filled with field goals and sloppy offense — and surely not the marquee matchup people wanted to see on national television.

Then, one of the Sexiest Men Alive showed up to save the day. Eagles legend Jason Kelce spiked the broadcast like a bottle of Canadian Club at the prom. He was charming. He was funny. He was honest. And — as many viewers pointed out on social media — Kelce took all the pressure off what appeared to be a very bored Al Michaels in the booth.

Kelce, who went viral after a hilarious trip to the Wieners Circle in Chicago, touched on a bunch of topics during his time on the Amazon Prime airwaves including the Eagles’ 8-1 start and the controversial Brotherly Shove play. But, the 36-year-old had everyone’s ears perked up when the topic turned to his potential retirement.

“I’m one at a time right now,” Kelce said. When Michaels asked if he meant one game or one season at a time, the All-Pro center was ready with a non-committal response.

“Both. It’s too hard to plan that far ahead,” Kelce said. “We’ll see where we’re at at the end of the season but I know this, I’m having a lot of fun … look, the league has changed a lot in the way they prepare and everything which allows older guys to flourish and be ready on game day. And we’re sure having fun right now.”

The Eagles are enjoying a bye this week which means plenty of free time for players to rest their bodies and get their minds off football. Kelce spent his first few vacation days goofing off in Chicago but took time to detonate a major truth bomb: the Eagles’ first half of the year hasn’t been good enough despite their 8-1 record.

“I don’t think we’ve really put together a complete game in all facets,” Kelce said. “And what makes it even more remarkable is we’re 8-1. So I think if we can clean up things … we’ve kind of improved, right? We struggled in the red zone early on and we struggled with turnovers and we’ve gotten better in each of those categories and that’s what you like to see. I think this is the mark of the season and just improving as we go.”

Jason Kelce Commented on the Brotherly Shove/Tush Push: “It’s something that’s such a high percentage play for us. When you run it right, when you do it right, and you hit the leverage, it’s really, really hard to defend.”

Jason Kelce on Philadelphia Eagles fans: “It’s a tough town to play in but it’s a town that will reward you like no other. They’re going to be rough on you when it’s down but I don’t think there’s anybody that’s going to love you more when you’re you’re doing it right — and representing it the way they are going to hold you to represent it. When it’s working there is no place better. No doubt about it.”
