The Philadelphia Eagles have released their first injury report ahead of this week’s clash against the Washington Commanders and FINALLY, there’s some good news.
Eagles finally catch a break
After missing week 7’s win over the Dolphins, Reed Blankenship returned to practice. The starting safety has been dealing with a rib injury picked up in the loss to the Jets. The good news is that even if he is unable to play this week, Kevin Byard has arrived to provide some stability in the secondary. The better news is that if Blankenship is healthy, the back-end is going to be the healthiest it’s been all year.
Bradley Roby missed Wednesday’s walkthrough which doesn’t bode well for an early return from his shoulder injury. But with Eli Ricks continuing to show up and make big-time plays, the Eagles might feel slightly better about their cornerback situation coming into this weekend.
What about Jalen Hurts?
The player everyone is curious about, however, is starting QB, Jalen Hurts. The $255-man was spotted wearing a knee brace during the second half of Sunday night’s win. However, it didn’t stop tying Randall Cunningham for the most rushing touchdowns of all time by an Eagles quarterback.
Hurts took to the podium on Wednesday to say that there’s nothing to be concerned about. Nick Sirianni stated that the quarterback is expected to start on Sunday.
The team is set to face Washington on Sunday and will run a full practice tomorrow where we can get a better gauge on the injury status of all of the players mentioned in this article.
