Eagles injury report: Lane Johnson headlines reinforcements returning for clash vs Dolphins

The Philadelphia Eagles have released their final injury report ahead of this week’s primetime clash against the Miami Dolphins and it’s safe to say the week will end on a high.

Eagles finally catch a break

Unfortunately, both Reed Blankenship and Bradley Roby will miss the week 7 clash against the Dolphins. This is bad news for a secondary that was already limping into this matchup. Contrarily, Darius Slay and Eli Ricks have been given the green light after some concern earlier in the week, which will absolutely take some strain off the unit.

The Safety spot is going to be specifically of note this week with the likes of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle storming down the slidelines. Missing Reed Blankenship is huge, but if we’ve learned anything about Sean Desai, it’s that he could probably field a defense with 7 people missing and find a way to negate every loss.

That’s where the bad news ends. Lane Johnson is another player who has been given the go-ahead for this weekend. He was a limited participant during Wendesday’s practice on the back of a scary injury suffered against the Jets. It was later revealed as a High Ankle Sprain and Johnson was relieved in the game by Jack Driscoll, who struggled in his place. Getting Lane Johnson back for a game as big as this is an unbelievable turnaround in fortunes.

Jalen Carter and Milton Williams are both available for the matchup too. The Eagles missed their dominant rookie massively in the loss to the Jets, with the Georgia product having a dominant campaign during his rookie year.

The team has also lacked DT depth over the last few weeks, with numerous players missing time. Getting Carter, Williams, and Cox back alongside Jordan Davis will give them a full-strength unit for the first time in several weeks.
