NFC East Odds: We’re now just a few weeks away from the 2023 NFL season and the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to become the first team to win the NFC East in back-to-back years since 2004. Coming off of a Super Bowl berth, the odds would seem to favor the Birds, but is it worth betting on the Eagles to run it back in 2023?
NFC East Odds: Eagles are still favorites to win their division
Team | Odds to win NFC East |
Philadelphia Eagles | -135 |
Dallas Cowboys | +190 |
New York Giants | +850 |
Dallas Cowboys | +1600 |
NFC East Odds: The favorites
The Philadelphia Eagles went into the offseason with a lot of questions and came out with plenty of answers. A strong NFL Draft that saw the team add both Nolan Smith AND Jalen Carter very much put an end to the worries and concerns many had back in March. Sure, there are still some weaknesses, but with a franchise QB who has just been paid, a star-studded offense and a new-look defense that’s brimming with Georgia Bulldog DNA, it’s hard not to love the Eagles here when looking at the NFC East Odds.

The Cowboys are in an interesting spot. It feels like one way or another, the time is running out for Dak Prescott to somehow turn the HMS mediocrity around. He led the league in picks during a chaotic 2022 season and the offense has lost its once electrifying charm. Players like Micah Parsons still roam the defense, but this isn’t the same Cowboys team that caused headaches for the best part of a decade. They’re vulnerable, and not exactly trending in the right direction. Not the best play when looking at the NFC East Odds.
NFC East Odds: What about the Giants?
The New York Giants are an under-the-radar team worth watching. Daniel Jones is no world-beater, but with Saquon now officially a Giant for the upcoming season, that automatically boosts them up the NFL hierarchy.
The Eagles will struggle to dominate them through the air as they did last year thanks to the addition of Deonte Banks, while Big Blue bolstered its OL and added a dynamic wideout in Jaylin Hyatt. They could spring a few surprises this year and while I don’t see them winning the division, I like the odds much better than Dallas.

NFC East Odds: And finally…
The Washington Commanders are…well…the Washington Commanders. They aren’t really going to be a huge factor this season (famous last words), although they have recently undergone a full-team makeover. The offense has the potential to be dangerous if they can get the best out of Sam Howell, and Jacoby Brissett is there to game-manage if needed. It won’t be an explosive year, but there could be a few surprise wins along the way.
If there is ever a time to bet on the Eagles to win the NFC East, it’s now.
