The 2023 MLB All-Star Game is set to kick off tonight and this year’s Mid-Summer classic is set to be another good one.

With Nick Castellanos and Craig Kimbrel both earning all-star nods this year, Phillies fans are also going to want to see this. With that and plenty of notable stars from around the league, there is plenty of room to make this competition even more entertaining as a fan by placing some (responsible) wagers.

Betting Odds

The American League team is the betting favorite heading into this star-studded MLB All-Star Game, currently sitting as a -112 favorite. This means you’d have to bet $11.20 to win and profit $10.

The National League, however, is making this a pretty evenly split game for betting purposes, currently sitting at -104, meaning $10.40 profits you $10.

The total for this one is sitting at 7.5 runs, which feels like Vegas is expecting pitching to run the game. And with guys like Gerrit Cole and Zac Gallen starting and Sonny Gray, Spencer Strider, and more to follow them, it makes sense.

MLB All-Star Game Notable Trends

  • The Under in the All-Star game has gone 12-1-2 in the last 15 games.
  • The American League has won every MLB All-Star Game since 2012.
  • The American League has won 17 of the last 20 All-Star Games. The NL won 3 straight from 2010-2012, but it’s been all American League other than that.

Bet to look out for

There is plenty of star power at the plate, but it’s tough to overlook how good the pitchers are in this game.

With Gerrit Cole and Zac Gallen starting the game, it’s a safe play to look at the fan-favorite NRFI bet in this game.

According to Stathead, Gallen has only allowed four first-inning runs in 19 games this season, while Cole has only allowed seven. The NRFI in this game is -120 on Bet365.
