Flyers unveil 2023-2024 regular season schedule

On the same day that featured the Philadelphia Flyers trading Kevin Hayes to the St. Louis Blues, the 2023-2024 regular season schedule leaked. It’ll mark 56 years of hockey in Philadelphia.

The Flyers will take to the road on October 12th, 2023, against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Last season, they finished with a 2-1-1 record against the Blue Jackets. They’ll begin the new season against Ivan Provorov for the first time.

The home opener at the Wells Fargo Center will be on October 17th, 2023, versus the Vancouver Canucks. The Flyers faced the Canucks twice last season, to a 1-1-0 record. Each team won on home ice.

Metropolitan Division Showdowns

The Flyers will face their Metropolitan Division rivals 26 times throughout the regular season. The first home game against a Metropolitan team will be on October 30th, 2023, against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In its entirety, the Flyers will play two home and road games against the Hurricanes, the Blue Jackets, the New Jersey Devils, the New York Rangers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. They will play three games against the New York Islanders (one home, two road) and Washington Capitals (two home, one road).

Stadium Series

They’ll be back outside in 2024! On February 17th, the Flyers will take on the Devils at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. This will be the sixth outdoor appearance for the Orange and Black. In their previous five, they’re 1-3-1, only defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins at Lincoln Financial Field in 2019.

Annual December Road Trip

The annual late December road trip will begin on the 22nd against the Detroit Red Wings, concluding on January 2nd, 2024 against the Edmonton Oilers.

Fifteen Games in March

March will take a toll on the Flyers. John Tortorella marches through the month 15 times, including eight home and seven away games. Both November and January include 14 games, critical months that’ll test the team’s character and fortitude.
