The conclusion of Matchday 8 in MLS means we’re almost through a quarter of the season already and while the way the table is starting to shape up might not be what was expected coming into the 2023 campaign, It’s hard to ignore some newer teams rising to the top and drawing eyes from around the league. But Matchday 8 was always going to be co-headlined by two of MLS’ strongest Regional derbies with Portland Timbers hosting last year’s CCL winners, Seattle Sounders on Saturday night, and LA Galaxy hosting last year’s Supporters Shield and MLS Cup Winners, LAFC on Sunday.
