It’s been a big day for the Philadelphia Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts. It was announced today that the young signal-caller has signed a five-year extension worth $255M with $179M guaranteed. He’s officially the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Needless to say, it didn’t take his teammates long to voice their support on social media.

Darius Slay is excited for Jalen Hurts

Darius Slay kicked things off by giving his stamp of approval on the Jalen Hurts contract extension that also includes a no-trade clause.

Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata both showed their support for the man they’re tasked with protecting and I think it’s safe to assume there will be some beautiful-looking steak dinners coming for that O-Line sometime soon!

If we’re talking dinners, best not leave A.J Brown out of the picture, who seemed very excited for his best friend.

Brown later tweeted a snippet from ‘First Take’ where Shannon Sharpe says how the Eagles are soaring and Skip Bayless is sighing. DeVonta Smith quoted this tweet a few moments later

If you want a bonus reaction, one Budda Baker seemed particularly happy for Jalen Hurts, while Devin White took to Instagram to reply to a post about the extension with a green heart and a comment about looking after your own. Let the fun begin.

It goes without saying, but just about everyone in the City of Brotherly Love is ecstatic for Jalen Hurts, none more so than his teammates who watched him grow into an MVP-caliber quarterback in 2022, leading the team on an incredible run that fell just short of a Super Bowl victory.

But we can all agree that Hurts is the guy to get the Eagles back where they belong – hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
