Joel Embiid is unbelievable. The 7-foot center has once again, for the second year in a row, led the entire NBA in scoring per game. The MVP hopeful is currently averaging 33.1 points per game along with 10.2 rebounds per game. With this, Joel beat out the likes of Luka Doncic (32.4 ppg) and Damian Lillard (32.2 ppg), among other incredible scorers in a historic year for scoring. He becomes the first center to win back-to-back scoring titles since Bob McAdoo did it with the Braves in the early 70’s.

Joel Embiid wins second consecuitve scoring title

Joel Embiid really is the most incredible scorer on the planet. Before last season, it had been over 20 years since a center led the league in scoring. That is, until Joel did it. It had been nearly 50 years since a center had led the league in back-to-back seasons (1973-1976). Until Joel did it. He scored 30+ points 44 times this season in 66 games. he scored over 30 points in 10 straight games. He has 13 games with 40 or more points and scored 50+ points 3 different times.

Whether or not Embiid wins MVP this season, his scoring should not be overlooked. He is one of the best scoring big men of our generation. He is doing things that haven’t been done for nearly 50 years, while casually playing some of the best defense in the league. Joel Embiid may not end up winning MVP despite this incredible feat of scoring, but he has cemented his name in the history books as one of the best centers to ever play the game.
