Beginning a four-game road trip on Sunday, the Philadelphia Flyers were defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tonight, the Flyers will take on the St. Louis Blues for the second time this season. In the first matchup on November 8, the Flyers defeated the Blues, 5-1.

Both teams were officially eliminated from the playoffs over the weekend. The Blues sit three spots and six points ahead of the Flyers in the league standings. All-time, the Flyers are 40-29-7-3 when facing the Blues in St. Louis.

St. Louis Blues (35-35-7)

The Blues will miss the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. After winning the Stanley Cup in 2018-19, the Blues have been unable to get past the second round. They’ve already made major changes to their roster this season and will be a team to keep an eye on in the offseason.

Jordan Kyrou has become the new face of the franchise. Kyrou leads the team in points with 71 (36G, 35A) and has put together a second consecutive 70+ point season. In September, Kyrou inked an 8-year $65 million extension that will begin in the 2023-24 season.

Jakub Vrana has impressed in his 15 games with the team this season. Vrana was traded to the Blues from the Red Wings on trade deadline day. In his 15 games, Vrana has tallied 12 points (9G, 3A). Unable to find his footing in Detroit, Vrana is now looking comfortable in St. Louis.

Projected lineup for the St. Louis Blues:

Saad-Schenn-Vrana

Blais-Kapanen-Kyrou

Neighbours-Brown-Leivo

Toropchenki-Walker-Pitlick

Leddy-Parayko

Krug-Faulk

Philadelphia Flyers (29-34-13)

Ronnie Attard will make his season debut tonight. Attard made his NHL debut with the Flyers last season and scored four points (2G, 2A) in 15 games. With the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this season, Attard has registered 30 points (11G, 19A) in 64 games played. He represented the Phantoms at the AHL All-Star game, replacing Cam York.

Travis Konecny has scored in both games since coming back from injury. He tried to spark a comeback in Pittsburgh on Sunday but Casey DeSmith was too much for the Flyers to handle. All-time against the Blues, Konecny has nine points (4G, 5A) in 10 games. He scored and assisted during the 5-1 win in November.

Samuel Ersson will get the start tonight. Carter Hart remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Against the Penguins on Sunday, Ersson stopped 28/31 shots.

Projected lineup for the Philadelphia Flyers:

Laughton-Cates-Konecny
