For those that were concerned that this young Bama team might find the NCAA Tournament too much and may falter under the pressure, it’s safe to say the Crimson Tide has done anything but. Bama has lived up to all the hype and then some so far. Their win over #8 ranked Maryland looked easier than their victory in the first round over Texas A&M CC. San Diego State will be hoping to buck that trend on Friday.
The Aztecs are in a good position to bring the fight to Bama. They’ve bounced back well from their Championship game defeat to Boise State and has made it to the Sweet 16 for the third time in the program’s history. With the fifth-ranked defense on Kenpom, SDSU will be hoping to weather the unrelenting storm that Bama is set to bring.
Brandon Miller will once again be the focal point for fans. The future NBA star dropped 19 in the win over Maryland and made it look effortless. SDSU does have some scoring prowess of its own, with names like Matt Bradley heading the charge, but the name of the game here has to be to keep the pace slow and win the rebound battle. The Crimson Tide bring a deep squad to the table and while the Aztecs may struggle to win the offensive war, they can certainly stifle their scoring and give themselves a chance as the game draws to a close.

Alabama’s frightening offense has pushed this total higher than it should be, and the Aztecs are either going to have to haul deep balls time after time to keep up, or try and grind the pace down. Either option should see the total drop to around 125-130 when all is said and done.
