The new Formula 1 season is just around the corner. With preseason testing taking place this weekend, all eyes are on the Bahrain GP and beyond. If you’re looking to bet on Formula 1 this season, there are some very interesting drivers worth keeping an eye on.
Betting on Formula 1
There are plenty of ways to bet on Formula 1 this season. From winners of individual races to the champion in 2023, there is a market for just about everything. You could bet on a driver to beat his teammate on a particular race weekend, place inside the top-10, or maybe you fancy banking on a strong qualifying performance at a track that fits your favorite drivers’ strengths. The possibilities are endless.
What a lot of people don’t know is that every sportsbook offers new customers RISK-FREE bets for signing up. So a $10 bet with your current sportsbook could actually end up netting you $200+ of free bets if you use it with a new sportsbook instead!
You can sign up to as many or as few offers as you see fit. But if you want to maximize your returns, instead of betting $50 with one book, spread it out among the five below and end up getting over 10x that amount of cash to bet with, absolutely risk-free!
Formula 1 World Drivers Championship Odds: Max Verstappen the clear favorite going into Bahrain
Max Verstappen | -120 |
Lewis Hamilton | +275 |
Charles Leclerc | +450 |
George Russell | +850 |
Carlos Sainz | +2200 |
Sergio Perez | +4000 |
Fernando Alonso | +4000 |
Lando Norris | +15000 |
It shouldn’t be surprising to see Max Verstappen listed as the heavy favorite to win the World Drivers Championship going into this season. After winning his second consecutive world title in convincing fashion last year, the rest of the field has spent the offseason playing catchup.
Perhaps the most surprising name is Fernando Alonso, who is tied with Sergio Perez at +4000 to win the World Drivers Championship in 2023. Red Bull reportedly named Aston Martin as a team to watch this year and clearly Vegas is expecting some kind of jump too given that Alonso is the first driver listed outside of the top-3 teams. Given that the Silverstone based team finished 7th in the Constructors last year, that’s quite jump.
If you’re bullish on Ferrari, this is a great time to bet on Sainz/Leclerc. Currently sitting behind Lewis Hamilton in the odds, Charles Leclerc has all the makings of a future champion but has been consistently let down by his team in a never-ending disaster class. If the winds of change begin to blow at the start of the year, you may not see Leclerc above +450 again.
Formula 1 Constructors Championship Odds:
Red Bull | -110 |
Mercedes | +150 |
Ferrari | +330 |
Aston Martin | +1000 |
McLaren | +15000 |
Alpine | +15000 |
Alfa Romeo | +30000 |
Haas | +50000 |
Red Bull are once again the favorites here, with Mercedes being the team expected to close the gap in 2023. Aston Martin being projected 4th is genuinely both scary and exciting considering their struggles over the past few years. Vegas appears to be very bullish on the arrival of Fernando Alonso.
Alpine, who did come 4th last year, have dropped considerably in the eyes of bookmakers, which could maybe provide some value on individual race bets in the early goings.
