NFL MVP Odds: How does Jalen Hurts fare after the regular season
The Philadelphia Eagles did what they had to do against the New York Giants. They secured the #1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the NFL playoffs thanks to a returning Jalen Hurts. But was Hurts able to move the needle in the MVP race after a two-week absence?

Week 18 was surprising for many reasons, but I don’t think anybody expected such wild movement in the MVP market. Patrick Mahomes was below -200 to win the MVP award last week and he’s now +400, only slightly in front of both Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts.
Hurts played well considering it was his first game back, and the fact the Eagles ended up winning the division along with becoming the NFC’s top-ranked team probably did a lot for how he’s viewed in this race.
Dak Prescott should not be anywhere near the top-5 in this year’s MVP market, but here we are. Brock Purdy should also be removed due to the fact he’s only played half a season. The body of work just isn’t large enough.
Realistically, this is a three-horse race. The fact that Jalen Hurts went from +1000 to +650 in a week says a lot about how quickly the markets move, and also how he is still clearly being viewed as a top candidate despite missing two games with a shoulder injury.
Many assumed Jalen Hurts would be out of the running, but he is very much in with a chance of winning the coveted prize.
