NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds: All eyes are on Kenneth Walker III going into the final week of the season
The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year race has been an enticing one to watch. A few short weeks ago, Kenneth Walker III wasn’t really in the conversation and Brock Purdy most certainly wasn’t. Jets wideout Garrett Wilson looked to be storming away with the award but with just one regular season game remaining, any one of this trio could walk away with the coveted prize.

Garrett Wilson is a very logical choice also. He’s surpassed the 1,000 yard mark as a rookie wideout which given the state of the Jets offense and the lack of stability at quarterback, is astounding. He leads all rookies in both receiving yards and receptions and has arguably been more valuable to his team than Walker has. That’s not to say Walker hasn’t been valuable, but Wilson has become the heart and soul of a fairly putrid Jets offense.
Brock Purdy is the third man in the conversation, although his presence will command questions. Sure, he’s been great and an extremely pleasant surprise, but he’s only started 5 games in an offense that has historically been very QB-friendly. He’s been everything the Niners could possibly have hoped he’d be and more, but the sample size is too small and him winning the award would diminish the accomplishments of his fellow rookies.
