Kenneth Walker III is still the man at the top of the totem pole according to Vegas. The second-round pick had a cold patch in the heart of November but has bounced back in fiery fashion. That’s not to say Walker hasn’t been valuable, but Wilson has become the heart and soul of a fairly putrid Jets offense.
Brock Purdy is the third man in the conversation, although his presence will command questions. Sure, he’s been great and an extremely pleasant surprise, but he’s only started 5 games in an offense that has historically been very QB-friendly. He’s been everything the Niners could possibly have hoped he’d be and more, but the sample size is too small and him winning the award would diminish the accomplishments of his fellow rookies.
