France vs Poland betting preview

The defending champions rested the likes of Mbappe and Dembele in their final group game against Tunisia and still found a way to snatch a point thanks to Antoine Griezmann….or so we thought. The goal was later ruled offside and the game went down as a Tunisia win. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for Tunisia to qualify, but Les Bleus will be back to full strength for this game and they should be feared.

Wojciech Szczesny can add penalty heroics to his already impressive resume this World Cup and although they weren’t enough to beat Argentina, his big save against Messi’s penalty could’ve been the difference. Poland went through on goal difference, but the word ’goal’ is what’s going to really count against France.

Poland have only scored 2 goals this tournament, and they’ve only conceded 2. The 2 they conceded came against Argentina (understandable) and the 2 they scored came against Saudi Arabia. While stern defensive efforts have kept them in the thick of contests, Ben Knapton of SportsMole cites that they’ve only had a total of 5 shots on target through 3 games. For context, there were 10 total shots on target in the first half of Friday night’s Switzerland vs Serbia thriller alone. With Lewandowski and Milik both playing up front, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be scoring this deep into the competition.

France vs Poland betting pick

France have a frankly ridiculous defense and we all know just how incredibly talented Kylian Mbappe is, and he thrives on this stage. Poland have struggled to do much of anything in the final third and that lack of scoring is going to haunt them against this vaunted defense. France -1.5 at +100 feels like a strong plsy.
