Game Preview for Sixers vs Magic:

Shake Milton has been providing the Sixers with critical scoring performances in the absence of James Harden, Harden Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey – they’ll need another one to edge out a Magic team that was able to keep the game close until the last minute.

Milton has put up 20+ points in three of his last four outings, establishing him as the clear number two option when Tobias Harris is on the court and the number one when he’s off. In that same span, he has three games making multiple three-point shots and two where he went perfect from the free-throw line. Milton will look to do both this time around as Chuma Okeke, Orlando’s best perimeter defender, remains out for tonight’s contest.

P.J. Tucker dodges the injury report for tonight and prevents the Sixers from being stretched even thinner – he has dealt with both chest issues and an ankle injury over the past ten days. The offense emergence of Milton along with Tobias Harris’ reliability should take offensive pressure off of Tucker to make shots he’s not comfortable with.

Tucker can instead focus on defending Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, Orlando’s two key young pieces that have provided most of their offensive firepower over the last two weeks. Both players bring versatility and can score in a lot of ways, making Orlando harder to guard than many would like to think when people see their 5-14 record. If Tucker can utilize help from the bench to keep both Banchero and Wagner off triple-double watch, the Sixers should be able to close this one out.
