Over the past five seasons, the Philadelphia Flyers have enjoyed some measure of success against the Vancouver Canucks with a record of 3-1-2.
Philadelphia is flying high after their victory in their season-opening win over the Devils. Can they carry the energy into today’s game? Quite possibly, but they will have to overcome the odds, literally.
It will not be common for the Flyers to find themselves favored to win a matchup this season; at least, that was the feeling going into the season. It’s clear that, despite his well-known headstrong approach, head coach John Tortorella has been a positive influence over the personality of the team — albeit with just one game to judge by.
The Canucks will not fall easily, though, as they attempt to bounce back after a loss to the Edmonton Oilers. J.T. Miller, Bo Horvath, and Elias Pettersson will certainly test this young Flyers team.
