Just as quickly as it began, the Philadelphia 76ers‘ preseason is set to wrap up tonight against the Charlotte Hornets.

Philadelphia is undefeated in the preseason, having won all three of their games so far. Charlotte, meanwhile, is winless in four games this preseason and recently learned they will now be without star point guard LaMelo Ball for one to two weeks.

What to watch

It may only be a preseason game, but who wouldn’t feel better if the Sixers swept the postseason?

Here are some key parts of tonight’s game to watch:

Let Tyrese Maxey keep cooking

Tyrese Maxey has been far and away the MVP of the preseason for the Philadelphia 76ers. The electric young guard is averaging 20 points per game in less than 18 minutes per game.

Maxey is 15th in the entire league this preseason in points per game. What’s more, he leads the entire league in points per minute among qualified players.

While, in the end, a win or loss does not truly matter, an opportunity to see continued growth from the Sixers’ future star is certainly at the top of what to watch tonight.

Who will assert themselves?

The Philadelphia 76ers must still part with one more rostered player after releasing former G League MVP Trevelin Queen. Signs seem to point to center Charles Bassey as the odd man out after he failed to play a single minute in the team’s last game.

Will he get one more chance to prove himself? Or will players like Jaden Springer and Isaiah Joe only further their lead for a roster spot?
