The Philadelphia Eagles are still undefeated and are officially Kings of the NFC for the time being. However, there are still plenty of teams breathing down their necks. 49ers vs Rams is the matchup for Monday Night Football this week, with the Rams looking to move to 3-1.

49ers vs Rams Game preview
The Niners go into this game as slight favorites despite being without their star QB Trey Lance. San Francisco are at home and the Rams have hardly lit up the Niners when playing on the road in recent times. Sprinkle in questions of a Super Bowl hangover and you have yourselves a ball game.
The Niners were able to suffocate the Broncos last Sunday and they’re allowing under 4 yards per play, which is the best of any team in the entire league. Where the issues stemmed, predictiably, was at quarterback.
Jimmy Garoppolo was wobbly at best and it’s safe to say the Niners made a good decision in moving on from him. However, he has been great against the Rams in the past and he’s going to need to be again if they have any chance of winning under the primetime lights.
The Rams defense has been efficient up to this point and the presence of Bobby Wagner has drastically changed the complexion of the unit. If there is ever a player who will be able to get under Jimmy G’s skin, it’s a linebacker as savvy as Wagner.
From an LA perspective, the Rams will be needing Matt Stafford to look like the guy who led them to a championship in explosive fashion one year ago. He’s still strong, but if this Niners defense was able to put firm brakes on the progress of Russell Wilson, they should be able to do the same here.
49ers vs Rams Betting pick
If you haven’t guessed already, this sounds like a stalemate. The Rams are on the road against a team who they haven’t beaten on the road in 3 years, believe it or not. I think that the intensity of this matchup and the strength of both defenses will negate any offense explosions.
The total (42.5) would’ve been UNDER on both of the last Rams vs 9ers fixtures from Levis stadium and I’m happy to back that total again here.
