The Philadelphia Eagles are officially 3-0. While the defense made life miserable for Carson Wentz in week 3, Jalen Hurts, his former backup, put the cherry on the cake by throwing a barrage of deep bombs and showing just how much he’s grown as a passer. Naturally, such a stunning display of passing has once again seen the MVP odds markets shift substantially.

NFL MVP Odds: Jalen Hurts to win MVP +600
Previously: Previously: +2,000, +2500, +3000, +1400, +800
I’ve preached it every week now for a month. If you haven’t yet placed a wager on Jalen Hurts to win the MVP award, time is running out. In week 1, his odds were +1400, which were already down 60% from where they were at the end of the NFL Draft. After week 3, they’ve more than halved again.
A $50 bet now would still net you a $350 return, but a few short weeks ago, it would’ve been over $1700! The scary part is, the odds probably aren’t going to be moving in the opposite direction anytime soon.
The game against Jacksonville will be the toughest test this team has faced, but after that, the road lightens up again. Arizona is a shell of what many assumed they’d be this season, the Cowboys are without Dak Prescott, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have Mitch Trubisky at quarterback and a weakened defense. Sandwiched in between the Cardinals and Cowboys game is a bye week. There is every chance that the Eagles could be 6-1 or 7-0 by the end of October.
As for Hurts himself, he has been nothing short of electrifying. He’s only turned the football over once this season, has 916 passing yards, 167 rushing yards, and has accounted for 7 total touchdowns. There is absolutely an argument to be made that he should be the early leader in the MVP race and with this kind of schedule, Jurts should just keep getting better.
He’s the only player EVER to start the season with 900+ pass yards and 150+ rush yards through 3 games.
You might be thinking you’ve missed the boat, but fear not. There’s a way to still get some crazy returns on a bet for Jalen Hurts to win the MVP award.
