The ‘Eagles Aren’t Playing’ NFL Parlay of the Week
There are three games this weekend that I genuinely believe will not miss. This parlay will warm you up for Monday night’s Eagles vs Vikings clash.
LEG 1 – New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers
This game is in Pittsburgh, and I don’t think the Patriots did anything last week to earn an away favorite designation. Other than losing T.J. Watt to the IR, this is still a healthy Steelers unit.
PPF has Minkah Fitzpatrick and Cameron Sutton with 89.6 and 73.9 grades in pass coverage last week. It will be difficult for the Pats to move the ball through the air.
It’s also interesting that Mac Jones suffered a back injury last week and then missed some time with week with an illness. Maybe nothing but the second-year quarterback is something to watch against a fiesty Steelers’ passing defense.
LEG 2 – Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Rams
I think Marcus Mariota at least proved this team could give you fits with Cordarrelle Patterson by his side. After one week, PFF has Drake London ranked as the 20th best receiver in the NFL, with a grade of 71.5.
This might be a serviceable Atlanta Falcons offense, depending on how much you believe in the New Orleans Saints’ defense. If they can get Kyle Pitts more involved, this is a legitimately good skill position group.
Like the Patriots, I don’t think the Rams have earned a ten-point advantage against a Falcons team that should probably be 1-0.
LEG 3 – Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
It looks like Russell Wilson is cooked. Kidding, but that was a rough return to Seattle, and hey, Geno Smith looked pretty good! According to PFF, Smith is currently the 2nd best quarterback in the NFL, with an offensive grade of 84.3.
That was against an excellent Denver Broncos defense, one that I believe will end the year better than the 49ers.
Insult to injury, George Kittle is unlikely to play for a 49ers offense that looked rudderless against the Chicago Bears in a monsoon. The weather will be better in San Franciso, but Trey Lance won’t be.
