The Philadelphia Phillies have now won two straight over the Washington Nationals. Tonight, the team looks to seal the series win with a third consecutive victory. Here are three player props for Saturday night’s game between the Phillies and Nationals. All odds courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook.
Ranger Suarez | Pitcher to Record a Win
Ranger Suarez has only made two starts against the Washington Nationals in his career but he has an ERA of 3.29 in those games along with a 1-0 record. As of late, Suarez has begun to re-establish himself a bit averaging an ERA of 3.48 in his last 15 games, 3.23 in his last 10, and 1.80 in his last five starts.
Suarez’s recent track record is only part of the equation. The rest focuses on his opponent taking the mound for Washington, Patrick Corbin. The National’s starter has suffered through a nightmare season owning a record of 4-15 and a 6.57 ERA. Barring a bullpen collapse, which is hard to see considering the bullpen performance and the Nationals roster, Suarez should be walking home with the dub tonight.
PHI Total Runs | Over Total Runs 1st-5th Inning
With Patrick Corbin on the mound, the hope, nay the expectation, is for another high-powered night by the Philadelphia Phillies’ offense. Scoring four runs on three home runs in the first inning last night, the Phillies may not have their runs as bunched together as early on as last night, but they will come.
Over half of the Phillies’ lineup tonight has an average against Corbin of over .300 in their careers. Kyle Schwarber, Rhys Hoskins, Alec Bohm, J.T. Realmuto, and Matt Vierling all have proven they can hit in bunches against the Nationals starter. That type of combined production means that, in all likelihood, tonight will not be a fun night for Patrick Corbin.
Three runs in the first five innings is certainly doable given the circumstances surrounding tonight’s game.
J.T. Realmuto | Over Total RBIs
J.T. Realmuto had been on a tear over his past 15 games slashing .385/.485/.731 since July 15th. With 20 hits, 4 home runs, 14 RBIs, and 10 Runs, Realmuto has found the production at the plate that earned him the right to be called the BCIB (Best Catcher in Baseball).
Through the series so far, Realmuto has hit 3-6 with two RBIs. With the mightily struggling Patrick Corbin on the mound tonight, there’s a real chance to continue that success tonight. In 10 career games against Corbin, Realmuto is slashing .308/.345/.500 with a home run and four RBIs.
Batting cleanup against Corbin gives Realmuto a great chance at an RBI in tonight’s game.
