It’s the start of Eagles’ rookie camp and the team has announced their five draft picks’ numbers. Let’s take a look and quick analysis:
Jordan Davis – #90
#90 hasn’t had much luck lately for the Eagles:
- Ryan Kerrigan – 2021
- Bruce Hector – 2019
- Treyvon Hester – 2018
- Justin Hamilton – 2017
- Marcus Smith – 2014-2016
- Clifton Geathers – 2013
- Antonio Dixon – 2010-2012
Davis will look to be the best #90 for the Eagles since Corey Simon (won’t be hard to do)
Cameron Jergens – #51
Another not so great history with #51:
- Shareef Miller – 2019
- Steven Means – 2016-2017
- Emmanuel Acho – 2013-2014
- Jamar Cheney – 2011-2012
- Antwan Barnes – 2010
With Jergens projecting to be the center of the future, the Eagles hope he can wear #51 like Alex Mack has in his career.
Nakobe Dean – #17
Poor Reid Sinnett, he loses his number before wearing it on the field. But this is a power move for Dean, as he keeps his college number and will want to show his doubters that #17 will be just as productive in the NFL. Brief history:
- KeeSean Johnson – 2021
- Alshon Jeffery – 2017-2020
- Nelson Agholor – 2015-2016
- Arrelious Benn – 2013
Kyron Johnson – #58
#58 went from two of the best defensive players the Eagles have had in the 2000s to being given to two players who didn’t do much.
- Genard Avery – 2019-2021
- L.J. Fort – 2019
- Jordan Hicks – 2015-2018
- Trent Cole – 2005-2014
Grant Calcaterra – #47
FINALLY SOMEONE TO GIVE #47 LIFE. He HAS to be better than the last guy… right?
- Nathan Gerry – 2017-2020
- Trey Burton – 2014-2016
- Gerard Lawson – 2010
