As the legal tampering period gets closer, the Eagles have already had their names pop up among several key free agents. And one of those names might get the fanbase very happy – Justin Reid.

The Eagles have weaknesses on all three levels of the defense. DL, LB, and even safety/corner are positions the franchise will need to figure out throughout free agency and the draft. Luckily, with the draft being extremely deep at both DL, Corner and LB, there are plenty of opportunities for the team to get better in a hurry.

Justin Reid is only 25-years-old and was a lone bright spot on a poor Texans team the last few years. Reid’s overall PFF grade was around 80 before posting a grade of 67 last season. That means Reid was playing at an All-Pro Caliber level, and ended up being just above average last season. At still a young age, Reid has shown he would be a perfect fit in the Eagles defensive scheme, while not forcing the team to break the bank on some of the bigger stars like Marcus Williams or Tyrann Mathieu.

There are reports that Reid could go for close to $10 million or less which would make him far more manageable cap-wise than his other safety counterparts.

As more names get brought up around the Eagles fanbase in the coming weeks, it’s very clear a player like Reid would be a great fit for the team and the Eagles certainly have interest in bringing the Stanford product to Philadelphia.
