Shortly after speaking to the media in Indianapolis yesterday, news broke that the Eagles were still monitoring Deshaun Watson’s legal situation as the star QB expects to go to trial facing 22 sexual assault allegations.

While this normally the status quo for the Eagles in that they leave no stone unturned during the offseason, with Russell Wilson apparently staying in Seattle, the Eagles seem to be looking at other chances.

It is also fair to point out that when Howie was asked specifically about Watson yesterday, the Eagles GM unequivocally backed their current QB1 in Hurts.

It would be very hard for a franchise to turn away from a QB on the roster who is only 23 years old and had just helped get the team to the playoffs. That being said, with Watson’s trial expected to start on May 2nd, the Eagles are expected to keep all options open as they enter the start of the league year.

More on this story to come as it’s reported.
