Schneps Media acquires leading independent Philadelphia sports company, Philly Sports Network
The leading sports digital media company covering Philadelphia professional sports, Philly Sports Network, has been acquired by Schneps Media, publisher of Metro Philadelphia, and other leading media brands.
Philly Sports Network was founded in 2015 with the aim of delivering unbiased coverage on all of Philadelphia’s professional sports teams, bringing a unique style that blurs the line between digital and print. Since then, the site has grown into one of the biggest independent blogs in the market and built a dedicated following across numerous platforms.
The partnership with Schneps Media will further enhance the quality of coverage provided by the team at Philly Sports Network, with aims of pushing the company to its highest possible level and being at the forefront of the next generation of sports coverage.
Schneps Media, a family-run business owned by Victoria and Joshua Schneps, has grown from a single newspaper to a diversified media company reaching millions of readers across Philadelphia and New York. In addition to METRO Philadelphia, the company’s brands include amNY METRO, Dan’s Papers, TheBrooklynGame.com and over 70 other news outlets.
Philly Sports Network will become a central part of Schneps Media’s drive to add dedicated sports coverage to its diverse community-focused approach to local journalism.
“It’s a dream come true to be able to work with a company like Schneps Media,” said Philly Sports Network’s Liam Jenkins. “To be able to align Philly Sports Network with such respected newspapers is one thing, but knowing just how exciting this journey is going to be for our readers and our writers makes it impossible not to smile. I’m really grateful to Josh and the entire Schneps Media team for seeing what I see in Philly Sports Network and wanting to take our coverage to the next level.”
“Under Liam’s leadership, Philly Sports Network and its entire team have developed an online community of passionate sports fans across the city’s professional sports teams,” said Joshua Schneps, Schneps Media CEO. “We are very much looking forward to working with them to grow our readership, cross promote with Metro Philadelphia and being the go-to source for Eagles, 76ers, Flyers, Phillies and Union fans. Philly is a sports town and we’ll continue to bring them what they love on even more platforms!”To get the latest news on your favorite Philly team, visit www.phillysportsnetwork-com.go-vip.net
