2021 was an interesting year for the Philadelphia Union and our Philly Sports Network gang following along with the team! On the field, we saw the Union follow up winning their first trophy in 2020, with runs in CCL and MLS Cup Playoffs. Off the field, PSN was there every step of the way with written articles, Podcasts, YouTube videos, and watch along live streams! Here’s a New Year’s Eve look back at PSN’s 2021 Union content.
A look back at PSN’s 2021 Union Content
311 pieces of content created
- Articles: 190
- Doop by the River Podcasts: 64
- Youtube: 50
- Watchalong Live streams: 7
Our Union gang was on the grind to provide the most content ever created in 2021. We overachieved on our goals and we won’t stop anytime soon!
We wrote the third most Union/soccer-related articles in PSN’s history of covering the team, had a huge season two of the podcast Doop by the River, added 50 youtube videos covering the team, and were able to have seven watchalong live streams!
It was a whirlwind of a year, but we at Philly Sports Network wouldn’t have it any other way!
Season 2 of Doop by the River
We at Doop by the River released 64 episodes of the podcasts! A huge thank you is in order for John (El Parcero Philly) and Justin who were the two consistently there, week-in-and-week-out. Zach and I were sprinkled in there at times as well, and the flow of the pod was set! Here’s a look at the breakdown month-by-month:
- Jan: 4
- Feb: 4
- March: 5
- April: 8
- May: 6
- June: 5
- July: 5
- Aug: 6
- Sept: 8
- Oct: 5
- Nov: 4
- Dec: 4
Thank you to all who tuned into the live-streamed video versions of the pod, and those who listened where ever you get your podcasts! This was a great second season of the pod, that saw us go over the 100 episode mark (our 100th episode was the recap of the Union’s win over Nashville and making the ECF) Can we hit 200 in season three?
We’ll be back even stronger in 2022
We’re gonna set some lofty yet achievable goals for 2022! The Union season is set to begin in 57 days, and we’ll be raring to go with the content for the 2022 MLS season. On top of that, the Union will compete in the US Open Cup and Leagues Cup as well!
Once all of the MLS action ends next November, the Men’s World Cup kicks off and you best believe we’ll be all in on that action! Before that though, we’ll cover other major world soccer tournaments, and teams like the USWNT as they get ready to qualify for the Women’s World Cup in 2023!
We’ll have you covered from end to end in 2022, and we can’t wait for the new year to bring new soccer thrills to you!
Be sure to come back to Philly Sports Network for more Philadelphia Union and other soccer content!
